With privilege comes responsibility… this is a fundamental concept I believe in. Consider Parkmerced, for example. I recognize that owning a community like this is a privilege. We are breathing new life into one of the most historic multifamily communities in California. I am honored to have the opportunity to be involved in something of such scale, scope and magnitude.
Having a clear vision and remaining focused on your goals despite enormous challenges is a hallmark of responsibility. When looking at the big picture, many leaders take the 30,000-foot view. I take it all in from 100,000 feet. This way, I have a clear vision of the entire landscape and make thoughtful decisions without being clouded. I decided to pass up scores of opportunities to be a part of the transformation of Parkmerced and to create a new paradigm for urban living with Maximus. It’s a dream for me. Twenty years from now, with my family by my side, I look forward to marveling at what we created.
We are revolutionizing real estate, and it takes a village of people standing with a visionary to do that. At the core of our mission is loyalty—to build distinct communities that people genuinely choose to be a part of. Loyalty is essential.
That sense of loyalty is where the name Maximus originated. We’re loyal to our communities and each other. It also stands for strength—we are able to navigate all aspects of this experience.
I was raised in a Born Again Christian home, and my family had been on food stamps for an extended time because my father was unemployed twice. That’s when I learned the system could never do for you what the community could, and I still believe that. Also, over the years I have come to love gospel music and timeless design, from clothes to shoes to homes. It fuels my passion for what we do at Maximus.
